It’s Gold For Swallow

Swallow Financial Planning has been awarded the Pension Transfer Gold Standard by the Personal Finance Society.  Whilst a voluntary code, there are nine rigorous principles to satisfy before being considered for such an accreditation.

This industry award is based upon good practice for ‘safeguarded’ and ‘defined benefit’ pension transfer advice.  Our clients might be more familiar with terms such as Final Salary or Career-Average pension schemes, Guaranteed Minimum Pensions (GMPs) or even Guaranteed Annuity Rates (GARs), all of which fall within the ‘safeguarded’ umbrella.

Unsurprisingly, the decision to give up guaranteed retirement income in favour of flexible access carries tremendous consequences if ill-advised. By qualifying for the Gold Standard, clients and professionals alike can rest assured that we take a holistic approach to analysing safeguarded benefits, and any recommendations we make will be based on the client’s wider circumstances and personal objectives.

Andrew Swallow is already a fully qualified Pension Transfer Specialist and has been advising on Final Salary pension schemes (including private, public and CARE variants), the USS pension scheme and NHS pension scheme for many years.  Josh Lamb has just taken his Chartered exam in this field, and we have every confidence that he will be accepted as a Pension Transfer Specialist before Christmas.  Should you, your friends, family or colleagues require specialist advice in this area, please do contact us on our usual numbers.  We will be happy to help.
